Reflection:

I received very positive feedback on my second attempt at the elevator pitch. I could not think of anything to add to the speech itself, so in my last attempt, I focused on presentation. I tried to take more pauses, giving the audience more time to digest the information. Additionally, I used a prop (my phone) to make the speech not only more exciting but also to aid viewers in better picturing the idea in their heads. By now, I had practiced my speech so many times that I could focus on fine tuning the presentation, rather than worrying about saying the right things. I believe this helped make the last attempt, the best one.

  1. Hi Erick,
This is a good app idea in theory. It would be extremely convenient to be able to diagnose and repair appliance issues in a flash. I had a fridge that went out on me and I had to spend $150 just to be told what was wrong so I understand the ‘bug’ we are looking to solve. My question is, how does the app work to identify the problem and offer a solution?
Good job, I look forward to learning more!

  2. Hey Erick, great job on your last elevator pitch. Even with just minor changes and improvements, you have managed to drastically improve your pitch. You have included tons of informative facts and examples, you provided the customers with the idea of how your service works and why they would need it, and finally your overall presentation skills have improved drastically and your editing is once again on point.

  3. Erick,
I like the fact that you got to the point within 15 seconds. I wasn't sitting there wondering "where is this going". It puts the viewer at ease. Maybe a quick vignette of prepping something delicious to eat and then going into the oven to cook and you realize the oven stopped working. Not cheesy like an infomercial but just put people in the headspace of “man, that sucks”.

  4. Hi Erick,
Great job on your third pitch. You were to the point and I see great potential in this app. Im wondering how the app will identity the problem just from a picture and description? You included a lot of facts and examples which made it easy for me to understand your solution at hand. You have great presentation skills and I was intrigued the entire video!
